I want to start by saying how excited I am to be joining the Claremont and Unity communities in SAU6.  I am looking forward to working and getting to know all of you as I start as the Interim Superintendent of SAU6.  

 I felt it was essential to tell a little about myself.  I moved up to Southern VT, Brattleboro, 20 years ago from Massachusetts. While in Massachusetts, I spent my first ten years as a classroom teacher and administrator.   

I've spent the last 30 years in education as a teacher, special educator, department head, Dean of Students, Principal, and Assistant Principal. This year will be my ninth year as a Superintendent.   I hold my Master's in Special Education and my CAGS in Educational Leadership and Management.

I’m a firm believer that every student should have the opportunity to grow and shine. Sometimes all it takes is just one person in their life to achieve greatness.  As an educator, I can't imagine doing anything other than being around kids and the adults who aim to inspire, nurture, and help make each student's future richer and brighter. Through all of my experiences in K-12 education, I've learned to appreciate the work of educators and the strength of a supportive, inspired community. 

I have always taken seriously the role I play in a school community for creating pathways for innovative learning to bring out the unique gifts in each student. What we do in our classrooms matter, and the efforts I make should always be leaving memorable, magical moments with our children and continuing to nurture curious minds engaged in learning. 

I feel that schools are a reflection of a community, and the success of our students comes as a result of the unwavering support of our community of residents, parents, guardians, students, and dedicated staff.

Once again, let me tell you how grateful and excited I am for this opportunity and how much I am looking forward to working with all the students, families, faculty, and staff in SAU6.
